Apr. 7th, 2005 09:55 amSo this panda comes up to me on the street and asks me if I could spare some bamboo for a poor hungry panda. I check my pockets, but all I have is a stump of rutabaga.
"I'm sorry, " I say, "would like some rutabaga?"
"No thanks" he replies and shuffles off.
Later that day, I came across a man giving away tender young bamboo shoots. "Hey, a panda was looking for you earlier today. If I see him again, I'll tell him where you are!"
"Oh no! he's found me again!" shouted the man as he ran off, leaving his bamboo where it lay.
I spent the rest of the afternoon looking for the poor panda, but couldn't find him. All I found were 3 marmosets, a flying squirrel and a pair of lesser pandas who weren't in the mood to talk.
One of the marmosets DID give me a really good stock tip though, so the afternoon wasn't a complete waste.
Now, I just need to figure out what to do with a stump of rutabaga.
